Blackjack is one of the most universal games played in the world of gambling. You might think it's an unbeatable game but in reality its one of the most beatable poker games out there. All you need to know is how to play the game and handle it properly.
First, let's think about your math skills. You don't need to be a complete genius to grasp the concept of blackjack; all you need to be able to do is count. You can count right? Okay, now you and the dealer are playing. The dealer has one card facing up and a card that is facing down for only their eyes to see. You will have this also. The trick is to focus on the facing up card of your opponent (in this case the dealer). You need to see if the next possible card that the dealer draws for you will bust you or give you the likely chance of winning.
Now what is the card's worth? If you get a king, queen, or jack, these cards are worth 10 points. An ace is worth either a 1 or 11 points. I'm pretty sure you can figure out what all the other cards are worth by just looking at the number. The whole object of the game is to make sure you beat the dealer and not let the dealer beat you and you get a total score of 21. You don't want to go over 21 because that will be a bust and you will lose your money.
After receiving your two cards, you (the player) have the option of taking a hit from the deck or standing. Taking a hit is where you ask for another card. To stand is to let your cards sit and wait for the dealer to either bust or beat your total number of cards.
There is a lot of strategy that goes into this game. You need to be prepared and not go into this game if you're not serious. Playing blackjack can win you money, but its best to know your chances of luck as well, and not over exceed your expectations.
A great way to play is to make your own "internal wager" on whether or not the dealer is going to bust when you've got a possibility to bust. If I am dealt a 4+10, I will look at the dealers hand before I stand or hit. If the dealer has anything over a 4, I am willing to risk a hit as there's a higher possibility that the dealer has more than I do. It's almost like a game of sacrifice because you're risking yourself a bust on the possibility of the dealer's hand. If played correctly, this skill could be mastered.
